WELCOME TO THE ISLEWORTH SCHOOL PTA

Our latest fundraiser will be the publishing of a recipe book.

We are a small sociable group of hardworking parents who care about our children and the future of Isleworth School. It is our aim to provide a comfortable and approachable bridge between the whole school community including parents/caregivers, teachers and children.

One of the main functions of our PTA is to organise and hold fundraising events in order to help provide or update equipment and technology within Isleworth School not otherwise allowed for in the school budget. For example, in 2008 we held several profitable fundraising events including a car boot sale, sausage sizzle and cake stall at the Bishopdale Mall. We also had a fun evening making lamingtons to order, resulting in a very successful profit. With some very generous help, we were able to offer for sale DVDs of our school production, "We are Christchurch", so we can all continue to enjoy the efforts and acting skills of our children and teachers for years to come. We also held two discos that not only raised funds, but also served to provide a lot of fun memories for us all to think back on in the future.

Our fundraising efforts in past years mean we were able to contribute to new sports shorts for our school Hockey, Netball and Soccer teams, as well as Kapa Haka uniforms, Year 6 student dictionaries, school camp costs and a morning tea for all of our student helpers.

Our main focus for 2009 was planning a school fair that we held in November in the school grounds, the proceeds of which will went towards upgrading our school hall for the benefit and enjoyment of our entire community.

We have a meeting every month on a Tuesday evening in the staffroom, dates for which are advertised in the fortnightly School newsletter, and you are most welcome to attend and share your ideas, suggestions or concerns.
